Hidden in a western suburban sanctuary, is a small café growing rapidly in popularity. Since the transformation of the Francis Park café into The Grounds Keeper Café in July 2016, Blacktown locals have been thrilled to enjoy their favourite park, while indulging in house-made savoury treats, decadent delights and renown coffee blend Gabriel.
Owner Sam Hayek is focussed on giving locals what he believes they deserve: “Blacktown residents should have a place where they can enjoy quality food and coffee in a relaxed and beautiful environment. The café is perfect for families, friends, big group breakfasts or romantic lunches.”
We would like to let you know that the only location for the Grounds Keeper Café at the moment is Francis park inside Blacktown Showgrounds, Corner of Belmoral street and Richmond road.

As Sam sees it, he’s taking the best of the inner west’s famed café culture and bringing it northwest, where the location is just as inviting at the food. “We wanted to blend in to this incredible location, with both undercover and outdoor seating. At The Grounds Keeper, you can really just relax and indulge in the moment.”Inside a building of exposed timber beams, beside a softly ebbing fountain and all of nature’s bounty, it’s easy to get distracted; however, quality food and coffee remain central to the café’s core. “We prepare almost everything here, onsite—and with our open kitchen, there’s no hiding. I’ve always believed that the best food is sourced locally and prepared fresh—The Grounds Keeper stays true to nature’s flavours, with a little spice to really make it colourful.”“How can you not be inspired to come here every day and work in such a beautiful place.”To see just how Sam’s inspiration is transformed into memorable dishes, you really have to try it for yourself. The Grounds Keeper Café is open every day, except Tuesday.
